We’ve been through so much for the last 2 years and I would not be standing here if it wasn’t for you. You gave me the courage when all I could feel was fear, you brought me sweets to cover sour tastes, you were shelter when all around was rain: and I’m grateful for you. I’m grateful I moved to Berlin the way I did because that lead me to our friendship.

I’m proud of both of us for delivering such a good class together, even if on both times sabotage was on the corner. I’m proud we can face it together, support each other, grow side by side. It took me one month to post this because I had to digest all that happened, but specially I gave myself time to feel the love we received during conference from everyone involved.

I admire you and your dedication, commitment and loyalty. You make me a better person and I can’t wait to live this new adventure by your side.
Thank you for taking me the way I am.

Meet your piercer: hi, I’m Nina!

Are you new here? Let me summarize it: I’m a Brazilian q***r piercer who is now based in Berlin, Germany.

I love cats, I love cooking, I love sharing my knowledge (mentoring, being a speaker, being in audience and talking to my colleagues later), I would love to read more books, water color is one of my hobbies, I do have a religion: Umbanda. And I love it too.

How did I ended up in Europe?
It was never a dream, never actually thought of it until I was in love with this person living in Europe, got invited to be in an amazing shop, met some of my best friends here, got an scholarship to Vegas where I got invited to move to Germany and I came! Long story short I ended up in the best team I’ve ever been a part of.

Why did I quit design and came back to piercing?
I love people. I love the connections piercing allows me to experience and because I believe in our power as a community 💕

🇬🇧 I can’t wait to see the official pictures as much as I can’t wait to thank you for the VIP treatment, for the respect, for the care, for the happiness and the sense of community you brought to my heart this weekend.

I started the week with an invitation for fight - and I dragged my self throughout the week just to arrive here with my heart aching.

Without knowing you took care of the wound: you brought me my community. The Brazilians, the passion piercers, the people willing to use a translator on their phones at all times just to connect and learn and grow and build a better place for all of us.

You gave me the love I needed and I hope it will come back to you. 💕

This is not about the conference yet, it’s just about the love I’m feeling and how grateful I am to have you all by my side.

🇧🇷 Eu tô contando os minutos pra ver as fotos oficiais, do mesmo jeito que eu tô doida pra agradecer ao pelo tratamento VIP, pelo respeito, pelo cuidado, pela alegria e por esse senso de comunidade tão bonito que vocês trouxeram ao meu coração esse fim de semana.

Eu comecei a semana com um convite pra briga — e fui me arrastando por ela inteira, e cheguei aqui com o coração doendo.

Sem nem saber, vocês cuidaram da ferida: vocês me devolveram a minha comunidade.

Os brasileiros, os piercers apaixonados, as pessoas dispostas a usar tradutor no celular o tempo todo só pra se conectar, aprender, crescer e construir um lugar melhor pra todo mundo.

Vocês me deram o amor que eu precisava, e eu espero, de coração, que ele volte pra vocês em dobro. 💕

Isso ainda nem é sobre a conferência.
É só sobre o amor que eu tô sentindo agora e a gratidão enorme de ter vocês caminhando do meu lado.

Piercing as we know now is fundamentally q***r.

It started as identity. As body autonomy. As resistance.

What today is widely accepted only exists because q***r bodies once took the risk of existing first.

Piercing is now for everyone.
And that is a conquered privilege.

Not to be forgotten.
Not to be erased.

Today, piercing can have many different meanings.
For some people, it is an aesthetic choice.
For others, it is connected to spirituality, healing, self-expression, sexuality, identity, or memory.

It can represent a personal transformation, the reclaiming of the body, the marking of an important moment, or simply the desire to feel more like oneself.

What was once mainly about survival and resistance can now also be about beauty, individuality, and freedom of choice.

Being able to choose this freely is part of what makes piercing today a shared cultural practice: accessible, diverse, and meaningful in many different ways.

O piercing como conhecemos hoje é fundamentalmente gay.

O piercing começou como identidade. Como autonomia do corpo. Como resistência.

O que hoje é amplamente aceito só existe porque corpos q***r um dia correram o risco de existir primeiro.

Hoje, o piercing pode ter muitos significados diferentes.

Ele pode representar uma transformação pessoal, a retomada do próprio corpo, a marcação de um momento importante ou simplesmente o desejo de se sentir mais si.

O que antes estava principalmente ligado à sobrevivência e à resistência hoje também pode estar ligado à beleza, à individualidade e à liberdade de escolha.

Poder escolher isso livremente é parte do que faz do piercing, hoje, uma prática cultural compartilhada: acessível, diversa e cheia de significados.
