Mauro Mateus dos Santos.
The world came to know him as Sabotage.

Born and raised in the South Zone of São Paulo, in the Canão community, Sabotage turned his lived reality into art. He didn’t romanticize the streets, he narrated them. Every verse carried raw truth, awareness, and vision.

In 2000, he released “Rap é Compromisso!”, one of the most important albums in Brazilian hip-hop. His flow was unmistakable. His language belonged to the streets. His presence was authenticity.

Sabotage was more than a rapper, he was a chronicler of the favela, a bridge between pain and transformation.

Just as his career was gaining momentum and new paths were opening, his life was violently cut short in 2003, at the age of 29.

But his voice was never silenced.

His legacy lives on in the streets, in headphones, and in the skin of those who carry his story.

Sabotage wasn’t just an artist.
He was resistance.
He was message.
And the commitment lives on.

Juan Carlos Sauceda Vázquez.
The world came to know him as Lefty SM.

Born in San Luis Río Colorado, Mexico, Lefty SM became one of the most authentic voices in contemporary Mexican rap. A representative of rap callejero, he spoke about loyalty, the streets, family, ambition, and always with a strong identity and no filter.

With millions of streams and views, Lefty helped strengthen pride in Mexican rap through songs like “Por Mi México,” while collaborating with important figures in the Latin urban scene. His presence was powerful: a deep voice, firm stance, and lyrics that blended real-life experience with vision and growth.

In September 2023, his life was tragically cut short. Armed men entered his home in Mexico, and during the incident, Lefty was shot. Reports indicate he attempted to protect his family at the time of the invasion. He was 31 years old.

His passing deeply shook the Latin hip-hop community.

But his story does not end with violence.

It continues in the music he left behind,
in the pride he helped build,
and in the strength of those who saw themselves reflected in him.

Lefty SM wasn’t just a rapper.
He was the voice of the Mexican streets.
He was loyalty.
He stood for his people until the end.

Tupac Amaru Shakur.
The world came to know him as 2Pac.

Born in New York and raised between the East and West Coasts of the United States, Tupac carried revolution in his name and fire in his voice. The son of political activists, he grew up surrounded by struggle, and turned that struggle into poetry.

He didn’t just rap about the streets, he confronted injustice, racism, poverty, and the contradictions of the system. His music moved between intensity and vulnerability, anger and reflection. Songs like “Changes,” “Dear Mama,” and “Keep Ya Head Up” revealed an artist who spoke for millions while exposing his own scars.

In 1996, he released “All Eyez on Me,” one of the most influential hip-hop albums of all time. In that moment, he wasn’t just making music, he was shaping culture.

In September 1996, after being shot in Las Vegas, Tupac passed away at 25 years old. A life cut short at the height of his impact.

But some voices don’t disappear.

They stay in the headphones.
On the murals.
In the lyrics we still quote without even realizing it.

Tupac wasn’t perfect. He was real.
And maybe that’s why he still feels present , every time the beat drops and the truth hits.
