Atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS) is a rare, life-threatening disease that can cause severe anemia, low platelets, and kidney failure. Bhutan recently documented its first successfully managed case using plasma exchange (PLEX), demonstrating that timely diagnosis, multidisciplinary care, and resourceful treatment can improve outcomes, even in resource-limited settings.
