Today, the nurses of Wangdue Hospital were honoured and celebrated during a heartfelt Nursesβ Day program organized by various unit in-charges and hospital administration as a token of gratitude for their tireless service, compassion, and dedication to patient care.
The celebration was graced by the Executive Director of Bhutan Kidney Foundation (BFK), Mr. Tashi Namgay, who joined the occasion as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by BFK recipients as well as a group of inspiring young volunteers from Youth for Health, whose presence added warmth and meaning to the event.
As part of the celebration, Mr. Tashi Namgay presented the nurses with a celebratory cake along with a generous monetary donation in appreciation of their unwavering commitment and hard work. The Wangdue Hospital family was also honoured with a cake and financial contribution from Ashi Khendum Dorji, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Proprietor of Apollo Bhutan Institute of Nursing, for which the hospital extends its heartfelt gratitude.
One of the highlights of the program was the recognition of outstanding nurses for their dedication and exemplary service. Sis Karma Seldon, OT In-charge, was honoured as the Best Female Nurse, while Br Dorji Rinzin, Ward In-charge, was recognized as the Best Male Nurse. Both were awarded certificates of recognition in appreciation of their hard work, leadership, and commitment to patient care.
The program also featured welcome remarks, lamp lighting, cultural offerings, sharing sessions, and words of appreciation from various participants, making the occasion both meaningful and memorable for everyone present.
