Children do not always read the textbook.

A 4-year-old came in with abdominal pain and only a 2-week history of cough, only for further assessment to reveal lobar pneumonia. Sometimes what looks like a tummy problem is actually a chest problem, and this is why proper medical evaluation matters.

In children, pneumonia can present in unexpected ways. Persistent cough, fever, fast breathing, reduced appetite, lethargy, or even abdominal pain should never be ignored.

Early recognition and treatment can make all the difference.
