Q: Why should I bother getting a flu shot?
A: It's not just about avoiding fever and sniffles. The flu shot lowers your risk of serious illness, hospitalization, and spreading the virus to vulnerable people—like young kids, older adults, or anyone with a weakened immune system.

Q: Can the shot give me the flu?
A: Nope. The viruses in the shot are inactivated (killed) or weakened, so they can't cause infection. You might feel a little sore or tired afterward—that's just your immune system doing its job.

Q: When's the best time to get it?
A: Early fall, before flu season ramps up. But getting it anytime during flu season (through winter and even spring) still helps.
