“Imagine a circle of compassion.
Then imagine nobody standing outside of that circle.”
— Father Greg Boyle
Founder of Homeboy Industries
Last week, I visited Homeboy Industries in downtown Los Angeles and was blown away by the palpable energy there. It is alive with togetherness, power, resiliency, and vulnerability.
Founded by Father Greg Boyle, Homeboy Industries is the largest gang rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world, providing support, job training, mental health services, healing, and commUNITY for people seeking a new path forward.
The incredible resources created there bridge a massive and life-threatening divide. The solution?
1. See the unshakeable goodness in others.
2. We belong to each other.

Love filled the gardens.
A celebration of love. A feast for the senses. A weekend overflowing with beauty, color, music, tradition, and joy.
I’ve been friends with Lauren since our New York City days in 1999, and it was such a gift to witness her marry Rohit surrounded by so much love. ❤️
These are a few moments from a truly unforgettable celebration — one that reminded me that love, when shared in community, becomes something even greater.
Congratulations, and Rohit. ❤️✨

One unexpected opening just came through…
🐘
We now have 1 spot available for our upcoming Yoga & Safari Retreat in Botswana — a 10-night adventure beginning at Victoria Falls and moving deep into the wild beauty of Botswana.
🐘
This is for a shared room (male participant) — a rare chance to join an already incredible group.
🐘
Think:
Early morning movement as the land awakens
Safari drives with elephants, lions, and expansive skies
Evenings unwinding under the stars
The healing tonic of community and nature woven throughout
🐘
If this has been on your heart, this is your moment.

Sweet 16 ✨
Celebrating 16 years of sobriety today — the gift that keeps unfolding.
I’m with family today and reminded how they truly had no idea I had a problem. I was so good at hiding in plain sight. I was what they call a periodic drinker — I could “take a break,” do a cleanse, dry January, all of it… only to return to an inevitable f**k it round, waking to that familiar dread and shame.
The absolute freedom of never coming close to that again is priceless.
I had already been teaching yoga full time for seven years before I got sober. I didn’t want anyone to know what was really going on — and for the most part, they didn’t. But inside, there was always a lingering sense of imposter syndrome.
I thought what I was chasing was a feeling of ease — that soft exhale after a drink or two. But it too often followed with too much, which followed with regret, and then the familiar scramble toward self-forgiveness just to move through the cycle again.
So on some level, what I was really chasing was a way to love myself and to finally meet myself there.
Sixteen years later, I’m profoundly grateful for each and every person who has been a support along the way. 🤍
If you’re struggling, please reach out to me or someone you trust. Addiction wants you alone at the very moment you need connection most — and you are not alone. You are loved even when the mind doesn’t know it.
I love you. Keep going.

Grateful for a magical Easter morning in Seaside, FL — sunrise service with family and so much light. ✨🌅

She had no idea this was coming… and the look on her face says it all. 💛
While I am grateful for all the care she received at the hospital and now at a rehab center, this was medicine for the soul.
These past two weeks were excruciating — for her, for me — yet filled with the most tender moments I get to hold in my heart forever. 🌷
This was the BEST MEDICINE we could have asked for — a moment of healing, of joy, of hope. She’s getting stronger by the day. I can’t even describe the uplift you gave us in the middle of this. And p.s. you sent it on my birthday!!
See the story of how we even got this message in my last post.
Thank you, , for making this tough hospital stay a little brighter, and to their tour manager for helping make it happen — it truly meant the world to her (and to me!).
I love you. Keep going! 🧘🏻‍♀️🎶

I couldn’t have made this up. In this moment, I know I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
Last year, my mom discovered an Irish band called Celtic Thunder. She sent all of us links… many times 😄
Over Thanksgiving, she wanted to watch together — and when I saw the video, I couldn’t believe it.
Fast forward a few months, in the middle of a tough hospital stay, they sent her a message 💙
Can’t wait to share her reaction — coming up in my next post!
Huge thanks to for sharing this joy, and to their tour manager for helping make it happen — it meant the world to her (and to me!).
