The Botswana Public Health Institute (BPHI) conducted a formal courtesy visit on the Commander and senior leadership of the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) to strengthen national preparedness in response to the ongoing Ebola virus disease outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.

The engagement focused on reinforcing civil-military cooperation as a strategic pillar of Botswana's public health emergency architecture.

The Botswana Defence Force reaffirmed its readiness to support public health operations.

BPHI expresses its sincere appreciation to the BDF leadership for its continued commitment to protecting the nation's health. The Institute further calls upon all communities across Botswana to remain vigilant, report any symptoms consistent with Ebola (such as sudden fever, severe weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, or unexplained bleeding) to health facilities immediately, and adhere to all public health guidance issued by the Ministry of Health.
