April 28 is the National Day of Mourning in Canada, a day that brings people together to remember the workers who didn’t make it home and to hold space for the families and communities who carry that loss every day. It is about honouring their lives, not just their stories, and reminding ourselves why safety at work truly matters.
Across the country, people pause at 11 a.m. for a moment of silence, a quiet but powerful way to reflect and show respect. It is also a time to come together with care and compassion, to support one another, and to keep pushing for workplaces where everyone feels safe both physically and mentally.
If you are in Abbotsford, we would love to see you there as our community gathers to remember and stand together.
Tuesday, April 28
10:00 to 11:00 AM
Abbotsford City Hall, 32315 South Fraser Way
Together, we remember. Together, we care. Together, we keep working toward a safer future for everyone 🤍
