Hi folks, Jess here. I know this will take so many of you by surprise, but it's time for me to let go of Van Bree Tattoo and move forward with my life.
Quickly, some important details for anyone here to ease their very valid concerns:
---We are closing at the end of the month, the last day we'll be open to the public is Saturday, February 26th
-------‐------
---All deposits carry forward with your artist. You may assume that any scheduled appointments will be at their new workplace after February 26th. Please speak with your artist directly regarding any concerns, they will likely contact you with the appropriate details before your appointment
-------‐------
---We will refund all gift certificates purchased for their full or remaining cash value, email the shop for more info. Refunds will be available and honored at least until March 2023
-------‐------
---The website, email and social media will stay active for at least the next year to help anyone needing to track down their artist or resolve any other matters
This has been a wild, beautiful and obviously bittersweet part of my life. There aren't words for how grateful I am to the community of people that have contributed to what Edwin and I created, the incredible souls that have come to share the journey with us in so many capacities.
I will love and cherish my Van Bree family forever. We are bonded in such a deep and transcendent way, deeper I think than the bond that comes from shared tragedy, life is more than that - maybe because what we do every day is so significant, intimate and lasting.
Thank you for everything. Most of us haven't or aren't going far, this is will be more of a transition in our relationships than the death of anything.
Here's to the future.
I'd like to give Edwin the last word and I think I know exactly what he would have said:
"Hakuna Matata"
With love,
Jess
