Rockwood Naturopathic Clinic started its new home on October 1st, 2008 after its relocation from the former Clinic in the Woods’ location in Erin. The new clinic was built with love by my father, Ben Turk (and I contributed as well!!) who I wanted to stay close to for a multitude of reasons. My dad was not a naturopathic doctor, but a contractor so when I say he built it...he literally...built it

brick by brick. Sadly, my father passed away two weeks after the new clinic opened its doors. As devastating as that was to me, I am comforted in the fact that my father’s legacy lives on here with the beauty of the scenery and the structure of the clinic and all that he has done here. It is definitely a country clinic in many aspects and I do believe you will find the same peace I do when I come in to work here each clinic day. The clinic resides on 10 acres of property in the beautiful countryside of Rockwood, Ontario. There are a few furry and feathery friends to keep it company as well. There are plans in the works for incorporating an outdoor fitness agility course for those inclined as well as other outdoor programs. Stay tuned for more info as we go along or feel free to ask what is on the horizon. Some outdoor fitness classes are already taking place as we speak! Rockwood Naturopathic Clinic utilizes numerous modalities, including a far-infrared sauna, Intravenous therapy, Acupuncture, Bowen therapy and Nutritional counselling to name a few.

Orange banana protein smoothie sounds so refreshing and I’m here to say it totally is!🤩🤩🤩

Does it taste like a creamsicle? No. But the citrus portion of this smoothie really made it feel like the perfect after morning run smoothie on a beautiful Saturday morning 🧡🍊🧡.

Here’s how I made it:

🍊 1 frozen banana 🍌
🍊 1/2 cup orange juice (I freshly squeezed 2 oranges)
🍊 1 orange peeled and segmented (I took the pits out)
🍊1/3 cup Greek Yogurt (I used plain, but you do you)
🍊 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)
🍊 1 tablespoon honey
🍊 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
🍊1/2 cup milk of choice (I used high protein milk)

Directions: put all ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth.

Enjoy 🧡🥰🧡

What a whirlwind couple of days at a 20 year reunion for the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) class of 2006!

The feelings of comfort, love, friendship, laughter and bonds that have never broken, our class has been such a strong force in the field of naturopathy. ❤️❤️❤️

Each and every face in the group photo is a dynamic, smart, and inspiring colleague that I would refer to in a heartbeat.

The memories rushed back, the good times, the sad times (remembering our colleagues who passed). It was like not a day passed since we had our last class together…. Gearing up for those board exams….20 years ago.

This work is precious to us, there is such a passion for health and wellness in this team that is like no other.

I do truly love my profession and am so grateful to have met each and every person in this picture (as well as those who were unable to make it).

Here’s an example of “Eat what you like, add what you need”; Breakfast Edition.

Sometimes I find it hard to get my protein and fiber goals in, and need to create some variety and add ons to meals that I can have when my time is limited and I don’t have anything prepped yet.

I love raspberries (really high fiber fruit at 8 grams per cup!) and walnuts (protein and healthy fat sources).

I ADDED 1 cup ultra filtered lactose free 🥛 milk (18 grams protein), shredded wheat (6 grams protein and 7 grams fiber), cinnamon and h**p hearts (10grams protein and has healthy fats).

This meal is calorie dense, however the nutrition for me to fuel the start of my day is on point. There are other options to keep calories down, but I personally am within my calorie range for the day, so this is a satisfying meal for me.
