Satiation 🌞

Something that is highly motivating at one point may become much less valuable after we’ve had a lot of it. Satiation is a reminder that motivation isn’t fixed, it can change based on our experiences and environment. 🧠

Stimulus Control 🌞

One sound, one colour, one cue. And suddenly… you’re doing the behaviour. 👀

That’s stimulus control, certain cues in our environment can signal when a behaviour is likely to happen.

The environment is constantly giving us clues. 🧠

Today, we wear orange to honour Survivors and remember the children and families impacted by residential schools 🧡

Extinction Burst 🌞

Ever tried something once… it didn’t work… so you tried it 10 more times? 😂

That’s an extinction burst, sometimes a behaviour temporarily increases before it decreases.

Knowing this can help us understand: bigger or more doesn’t always mean it’s working 👀

ABA Beyond the Therapy Room ✨-ABA can sound like a complex science, but behavioural principles show up in our everyday lives more than we realize. 🧠✨ Follow along as we break down one principle each week and show you how simple, relatable, and actually applicable ABA is! 👀☀️

Behavioural Momentum 🌞- Ever notice that once you get started, it’s easier to keep going?

That’s behavioural momentum! Start with a few easy wins before tackling something harder. 👀

Sometimes the hardest part is just getting started. 🚀

Try it this week: build some momentum before your next big task!

We are excited to announce that it has officially been 1 year since we opened the doors to our Brooklin, Whitby location! ☀️🎉

We are incredibly grateful to the families who have entrusted us with their loved ones, and to our amazing staff who have helped make so many milestones possible over the past year.

We are especially grateful for the many children we have met who have touched our hearts and helped us grow along the way.

We are looking forward to many more years of success, achievements, laughter, joy, and memories! 💛

Feel free to stop by the centre for some treats and fill in your Sunshine! ☀️
