A Request to All Trail Users of Mt. Rose Swanson - Please Avoid Recreating on the Mountain
Just a few moments ago the ASTS had a conversation with the Township of Spallumcheen. Neither of us have the authority to close trails on Crown Land but we are advising/encouraging the public to avoid recreating on Mt. Rose Swanson given the very high fire danger.

The Township of Spallumcheen has issued an evacuation alert that includes the Mt. RS area. Access roads leading to the trail network have been designated for local traffic only, and the Township is asking in an abundance of caution that non-residents avoid the area.

In support of local emergency management efforts and out of respect for affected residents, the Armstrong Spallumcheen Trails Society is requesting that all trail users avoid the Mt RS trail network until further notice. Reducing non-essential traffic helps ensure emergency personnel and local residents can safely access the area when needed.
