It’s weird when you get to a point in your life where you shed some of your bu****it. For example…I definitely sucked at taking accountability in areas of my life, work and all. No one’s perfect and also I feel like we’re forgetting these institutions usually have a major focus to stay relevant as possible financially and whateverly.

Again, what’s needed most isn’t the designation differentation it’s the accountability, sustainability for teachers, mentorship for studios and teachers alike, courses and continuing education that expands and doesn’t cash grab, process for harassment, asalt {you know the word but I don’t want ig to block me up}

We seem to forget we’re in the wild West. The process is going to be western and while the registry focuses on a more cultural approach that I’m used to, a collective approach I can see from a different angle. The matter of the pie is that, this is a registry, we need to take responsibility: studio owners, teachers etc on how things get shaped…I think? The next few months I’ll keep reviewing my own policies, methods, culture and chatting with other people and asking questions of my team.

My mind could change in a few days with how things unfold. However I’m loving the exchanges and discussions coming of this.

I won’t get on the topic of privilege right now. It still needs sorting out.

We are hitting the midpoint mark of the Fall 2026 "Ready or Not~ Preparing for the Inevitable" death preparation course.

January of 2027 marks the 10th anniversary since I launched this unique and invaluable offering! It was first attended in person and then moved to virtual during the pandemic. It has remained as a virtual course as it allows for people near and far to participate. We have had folks from all over including Whitewater Region, Ottawa, Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, California and even Mexico! Information is generally universal so anyone can take this course and benefit from it.

Contrary to popular belief, this course is created for ALL adults over the age of 18. One does not have to be facing their imminent death to participate. In fact, it's just the opposite. We desperately want to cling to the idea that there will time to complete these tasks some day in the future. For many, that day does not come.

It is an opportunity to engage in thinking about, reflecting upon and preparing for (as much as possible!) the inevitable ending of this one beautiful life.

Winter 2027 dates have been set! It is a perfect way to spend those long winter months and prepare for the year ahead. The first course of 2027 will run from Wed. Feb. 3rd until Wed. March 10 2027 from 6:30-9pm VIRTUAL with the Wed. March 3 class being optional (MAiD) and running from 7-8:30pm.

If this is something you have been thinking about or have been nudged towards, please get in touch by sending a DM or by email at julie@readyornoteol (dot) com

Feeling apprehensive, a little (or a lot!) fearful and downright hesitant are all normal feelings to have when considering a commitment to exploring and contemplating your eventual and inevitable demise. I can guarantee, though, you will feel SO proud, relieved and joy-filled having done so.

COST: $450 (includes workbook, education/ guidance, reflective homework, professional guest speakers and a guaranteed renewed vitality for LIVING FULLY!)
Photo Cred: Tim Graham Photography of a mandala I created for a dear one who suffered a cardiac event.

***Please note that consideration is given to those facing financial hardship. Just send a DM and I am always happy to accomodate. Preparing for your death should not be missed due to financial reasons**

Whether it’s people-pleasing, chasing conventional success, ascribing to a faith, following society’s rules for traditional love and relating—it’s inevitable. So many of our traits, values, and ideas of what makes “a meaningful life” are inherited. Adopted, unconsciously, to stay safe, be liked, or conform.

(I love this message from — go follow her for more!)

But eventually, following the map we were handed leaves us feeling empty. Hollow. Like we’ve living on autopilot, living a performance, or not really *living* at all.

In a culture that values the more-more-more of life, it can be difficult to accept the fact that growth and transition begins with UN-becoming. With letting go. Allowing death to make room for new life.

It can be a painful process. At the very least, an uncomfortable one. And most of us don’t leap into those fires willingly!

For the most part, we arrive at unbecoming—at transition—when we can no longer ignore the tension between our inner truth and our outer life.

Yes: unbecoming feels like a crisis. Most of us have built big ol’ lives on top of those old maps. And letting go of the maps, means dismantling parts of our lives.

It can feel wrong. Like a crisis. Like grief.

But you can’t become without unbecoming 🌱

As a transition coach, I help people outgrowing chapters built on approval, achievement, and others' expectations step into a more vital life. You can discover more about private coaching with me in my bio!

And not necessarily in that order!!!!

On a punchy note though…how ever will you flex your false sense of spiritual superiority over the teachers who are just beginning? who have only done a 200hr training?

The horror 🙄

Anyhoop, sat my ass down and write a blog post on it.

The rest of my field notes are being uploaded again after my blog crashing, this is why you keep backups and print those backups {yes I print my blog posts} Hyperfocus moments lead to some wild and wonderful thoughts.

LeVar Burton, the longtime host of Reading Rainbow, spoke at Stanford this May and summed up why reading matters in a few sentences.

He said: "If you're a reader for life, then you can self-educate. You are - by my definition - free. Because no one can imprison your mind. Or your imagination."

He also said the goal of Reading Rainbow "was to take a child who could read and turn them into a reader for life." In kindergarten we are right at the start of that road. Some of my friends are still figuring out which way the book opens. The love of it has to come first, and the rest follows.

He called teachers and librarians "my favorite people on the planet," which, fair.

What book turned you into a reader?
