We are excited to offer a fall gardening session with Master Gardener Alann Fraser. “Harvesting Your Garden!”

“Flowers excite us all summer, starting in the spring as the plant begins to emerge from a little seed. We watch them grow, set buds and bloom in all of their beauty. Then those beautiful blooms fade and we are left with a combination of dead blooms and/or browning stems. So now what do we do? Gathering seeds for next year is very easy but does require a variety of steps depending on the type of plant. Join me as I discuss what seeds I save, how to save each type, and the best way to store them so the seeds are viable to germinate next spring. Seed saving will save you money and add to the excitement of growing plants. This session will focus on seed saving from plants such as delphinium, strawflower, snapdragons, coneflowers, marigolds, canna lilies and others. We’ll also discuss bulbs - what to dig and when, and how to safely store over winter.”

Hoping to see a good crowd at this week’s Farmer’s Market to support our local producers. We have 5-6 vendors this week, offering produce, honey, baked goods, bread, perogies, some crafts and more. Even a lemonade stand this week!
