With grocery prices continuing to rise, it’s never too late to start thinking about simple ways to save money on food for you and your family!
A few ideas:
🌱 Grow more food at home: make the most of your space by growing fruits, vegetables and herbs in your yard. No yard? No problem. Try growing on a sunny windowsill or out on your balcony.
❤️ Trade with your community: swap goods or services with your neighbours, coworkers, friends and family. For example, you could trade garden goods for some homemade tallow or you could exchange skills like sewing clothes for fresh eggs.
👩🌾 Support local: explore more roadside stands, visit farmers markets or connect directly with your local farmers. You may even be able to ask farmers if you can have some of their extra veg before they disc it under, food that would otherwise go to waste.
It's time to get creative! There are options so that you're not as dependent on grocery store prices 🫶
