October is RVT Month, and we want to say thank you to the Registered Veterinary Technicians on our team. 💙

Our RVTs are medically trained professionals who bring skill and care to every patient and every client. You see them at the start of the visit and at the end of it. In between, they’re monitoring anesthesia, running lab work, placing catheters, doing dental procedures, and explaining at-home care to our clients. They’re also the ones who sit on the floor with a nervous dog, cuddle a kitty recovering from surgery, and who call the next day to ask how your pet is doing.

We’re grateful for them, and we’re proud of the way they look after pets and the people who love them.

🍎 Back to School, Back to Routine 🍎

As the backpacks come out and the house gets quiet again, remember - your pets feel the shift too.

A few things to keep in mind as everyone heads back:

🐾 Watch for the blues. Pets used to a full house all summer can get anxious when everyone's suddenly gone. Extra enrichment, a worn t-shirt that smells like you, or a food puzzle can ease the transition.

🐾 Mind the supplies. Glue sticks, markers, and especially loose small items can be tempting — and dangerous — to curious pets. Keep the new school gear up and away.

🐾 Lunchbox leftovers. Grapes, raisins, chocolate, and anything with xylitol are a no for pets. A dropped snack can mean a call to us.

🐾 New season, good time for a checkup. Fall is a great moment to get ahead on wellness visits before the busy season hits. And if your pet is on our health plan you get free checkups all year!

It’s Check the Chip Day!

If your pet ever gets lost, a microchip can be one of the best ways to help bring them home. But there’s one important catch — the contact information attached to that chip needs to be current!

Take a minute today to make sure your pet’s microchip information is up to date. Have you changed your phone number, email address or moved since your pet was chipped? Now is the perfect time to update it.

Not sure if your pet is microchipped? We’re happy to scan them for you. It only takes a moment and can give you a little extra peace of mind.

A tiny chip might not look like much, but when a pet goes missing, it can make all the difference.
