Something sacred has been quietly taking shape behind the scenes… 🀎

And this Friday, I finally get to share it with you.

A little surprise.
A new chapter.
Something very close to my heart.

I can’t wait. ✨

There are smiles in these photos, but there was so much pain behind them.

In these first two photos, you see me laughing, smiling, and sharing funny moments with my best friend at a friend’s wedding. You see happiness. You see life happening.

But moments after these were taken, I experienced my second miscarriage.

Suddenly, my best friend wasn’t just standing beside me at a wedding. She was holding space for me as I experienced the loss of my baby in real time. She went to the bathroom with me, made sure there was no blood on my dress, and helped me process something I was desperately trying to hide from everyone around me.

A few days later, blood work confirmed what my heart already knew.
My husband and I had lost our second baby.

And then, that same week, I went to a branding shoot for my doula business β€” one that was also going to have some pregnancy announcement photos taken.

My photographer knew. She knew the heartbreak I was carrying, and somehow, in the middle of it all, she made me laugh. She made me feel beautiful when I felt completely broken inside.

And then there’s this photo of the three of us.

A photo that holds both pain and beauty.

Because sometimes both can exist at the same time.

You can laugh while your heart is breaking.
You can feel beautiful while feeling shattered.
You can be carrying something no one else can see.

I’m so grateful for two incredible women who held space for me in completely different ways β€” Josie, my best friend, who was my rock through the loss, and Magna, my amazing photographer, who helped me find laughter and beauty in the middle of heartbreak.

Two women from different parts of my life, both reminding me that I don’t have to choose between beauty and pain.

There was grief here.
But there was also love, friendship, laughter, and beauty.

And I think I’m finally learning that I’m allowed to live in both. 🀍

I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to support this mama, even from a different region. 🀎 It’s such a beautiful reminder that distance doesn’t have to stand in the way of feeling educated, heard, and supported. Being able to walk alongside her through this season, even from afar, truly means so much to me.

There are so many parts of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum that families don’t always realize they may need support with until they’re already in the middle of them.

Sometimes you don’t need someone to make decisions for you.

Sometimes you simply need someone to educate you, support you, answer your questions, help you understand your options, and remind you that you have a voice in your own journey. 🀎

This is one of the reasons I’ve been working on something new for Simply Sacred.

Something created to provide even more support in a way that I am so excited to share with you.

Something has been quietly happening behind the scenes at Simply Sacred… 🀎

I’ve been working on something that I’ve been SO excited to share with you, and it’s almost time.

A new little home for Simply Sacred. ✨

I can’t wait to finally show you what I’ve been creating.

Any guesses what it is? πŸ‘€

There is something so deeply humbling about being trusted to support a woman through one of the most transformative moments of her life. As a doula, my goal is never to take away her fear, but to remind her that she can move through it with strength and confidence. Sometimes the greatest support I can offer is simply being present, creating calm, and reminding her to trust the wisdom of her own body. Hearing a client say that I helped her feel safe, heard, empowered, and never alone is something I will carry with me long after her birth is over. Because the greatest gift a doula can give isn’t taking away the hard moments-it’s helping a mother realize just how capable she has been all along. 🀍

If you feel like you may be going into labour, take a moment to breathe, stay calm, and pay attention to what your body is telling you. Start timing your contractions and notice how often they’re coming, how long they last, and whether they’re becoming stronger and closer together. Contact your healthcare provider or birth team for guidance, especially if you’re unsure whether labour has started or you have any concerns. Gather your essentials, make sure your support person is nearby, and prepare to head to your planned place of birth when it’s time. Most importantly, trust your instinctsβ€”if something doesn’t feel right, or you have heavy bleeding, decreased fetal movement, or your water breaks and you’re concerned, seek medical guidance right away.

Being on call means my days can look a little different, always keeping my phone close and knowing I could be called at any moment. 🀍
So today, I’m enjoying the little pockets of normalcyβ€”running a few local errands, grabbing what I need, and taking care of the simple things at home.
Making my bed, putting on a little makeup, getting dressed, and doing the things that make me feel a little more like myself.
They may seem like small, ordinary moments, but sometimes those little things are exactly what I need to make my day feel complete.
Because even while I’m waiting for the call that could change my day in an instant, I’m learning to find joy in the quiet moments too. 🌿
