Celebrate all the dads 💙

Today, we recognize Dads, Step Dads, New Dads, Adoptive Dads, Single Dads, Granddads, Great Granddads, Father Figures, and Chosen Dads.

We also hold space for those with a strained relationship with their dads, those missing their dads, those grieving, and those navigating Father’s Day with mixed emotions.

However fatherhood fits into your life, your story matters.

From all of us at Bayshore, we wish you a Happy Father’s Day.

June is filled with opportunities to learn, connect, remember, and support our community at Hospice Orillia. 💙

From educational presentations on dementia and end-of-life planning, to volunteer information sessions, our Garden of Remembrance gathering, and thoughtful conversations through our hospice palliative care podcast, there are many ways to engage this month.

Looking for another way to support local hospice care? Stop by Montana’s Orillia and ask for the Community BBQ Booth—10% of your bill will be donated to Hospice Orillia throughout the summer.

Together, we can build a more compassionate and informed community for those navigating serious illness, caregiving, grief, and loss.

For event details and registration information, visit Hospice Orillia's website.

Ongoing education helps our teams stay informed about the latest innovations, best practices, and evidence-based approaches in healthcare. From wound care and infection prevention to ostomy and catheter care, professional development opportunities help us continue delivering high-quality care and support to the clients and families we serve.

We're grateful for opportunities to expand our knowledge, strengthen our skills, and stay current in an ever-evolving healthcare landscape.

On June 21, we recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day and celebrate the rich heritage, diverse cultures, and lasting contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada.

This month, there are several opportunities to learn, reflect, and engage through Indigenous-led programs and events, including:

Educational Celebration (June 18)
Free Online Indigenous-Led Learning Program (June 15–25)
Legends of Lacrosse Event (June 21)
We encourage our community to take part in these meaningful opportunities for learning, connection, and reconciliation.

Our office is looking extra colourful this summer! 🎨☀️

This year, Jennifer Gill at reception organized a fun summer colouring contest for the children in the lives of our staff. Printed colouring sheets were made available at our office and clinic locations, and we were thrilled to receive so many wonderful entries.

The completed colouring pages are now proudly displayed throughout the office, bringing plenty of colour, creativity, and smiles to our team and visitors.

Thank you to everyone who participated and shared their artistic talents with us. We loved seeing all the colourful creations!

A special congratulations to our lucky winner, a little girl from Barrie, whose name was drawn to receive a contest prize. 🎉

Thank you to all our young artists for helping brighten our office this summer!

As we head into the summer months and the heat ramps up, staying hydrated becomes more important than ever. Proper hydration helps regulate body temperature, supports energy levels, improves focus, and can help prevent heat-related illness.

For busy healthcare professionals, it’s easy to put your own needs on the back burner while caring for others. That’s why we’ve put together a few simple tips to make staying hydrated throughout the day a little easier.

Small changes can make a big difference, whether it’s tracking your water intake with an app or adding a splash of flavour to make drinking water more enjoyable.

Remember, taking care of yourself is an important part of taking care of others. 💧☀️

What are your favourite tricks for staying hydrated during a busy workday?

We were proud to take part in the Alzheimer’s Walk in support of the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners at Springwater Provincial Park.

It was a beautiful, well-attended day filled with community spirit, meaningful connection, and support for families living with dementia.

The event also featured fun kids’ activities and a great lunch, making it a truly welcoming day for all ages.

Thank you to everyone who came out, walked, and supported this important cause. Your participation helps strengthen programs, education, and care for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

Last Thursday, our administrative team hosted a lovely High Tea at the Barrie office.

Staff gathered to enjoy sweet treats, warm conversation, and a chance to connect outside of the day-to-day routine. It was a wonderful opportunity to slow down, share some laughs, and spend time together as a team.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so enjoyable. ☕✨
