"All agencies, please stand by for a final call.
Dispatch to Charlottetown 90 .
Dispatch to Medic Michael MacKenzie.
Dispatch to Medic Mike MacKenzie.
All units, please be advised, this is the final call for Primary Care Paramedic Mike MacKenzie.
For 35 years, Mike dedicated his career to serving others with unmatched passion, a heart that always put people first, and a personality that was impossible to ignore.
To so many of us, Mike was our work dad, who welcomed new paramedics with open arms. He shared his wisdom without hesitation. And was always there with steady guidance, a listening ear, or, a well timed laugh. He made people feel safe, not only on calls, but in life.
The care Mike showed to his colleagues was simply an extension of who he was. He was an incredible father to his children, a devoted and loving husband to his wife, and a man whose greatest pride, was his family.
The love he gave at home, was the same love he carried into every shift, and every person fortunate enough to know him.
Mike, your legacy lives on in the countless lives you've touched, the paramedics you mentored, and your family, who will forever carry your love with them.
Primary care paramedic, Mike MacKenzie, your duty is complete. Your service, your compassion, and your unwavering dedication to caring for others will never be forgotten.
Rest in paradise, Mike.
We will take it from here.
All units, all agencies, dispatch is clear."
I wish I could have gotten in town earlier in the day to get a better picture for Mike. Unfortunately I couldn't make the timing work.
Rest easy Mike.
