Are you consuming enough healthy fats? 🥑
Did you know that consuming healthy fats actually helps you lose weight, nourishes your brain and heart and helps you achieve optimal health.
Yep that’s right! Fat is one of the body’s most basic building blocks.
Healthy fats are absolutely essential for health. Obviously you want to add more of the right fats to your diet. To do this, you need to know which ones to eat.
Optimal sources of omega-3 healthy fats include small cold-water fish like wild-caught salmon, sardines and herring, organic flax and h**p seed oils, walnuts, Brazil nuts and sea vegetables.
Besides eating plenty of wild, fatty fish, optimize your omega 6 healthy fat intake with nuts and seeds, coconut oil, grass-fed butter (or ghee if you’re dairy sensitive), avocados, grass-fed meats, extra-virgin olive oil and olives.
How much depends on your activity level, if you are in menopause, if you need to lose weight but 10-15 g/meal is a great starting point.
I personally eat around 75g of fat per day so don’t be afraid of healthy fats!!
