The PEBC Pharmacy Technician blueprint is changing in September 2026 β€” but what do these new competencies actually mean?

In this video, I break down all 6 competency areas, explain what PEBC is really testing, and provide real-world examples of how these concepts may appear in both the MCQ and OSPE exams.

The biggest takeaway? The exam continues to move toward real pharmacy practice, focusing on safe distribution, communication, professionalism, patient safety, and working effectively within technician scope.

Understanding the blueprint is one of the first steps toward building a smarter study plan.

Which competency do you think students underestimate the most? Let me know in the comments πŸ‘‡

Understanding the PEBC Pharmacy Technician blueprint is NOT optional β€” it’s one of the smartest ways to study strategically πŸ“šπŸ”₯

The blueprint tells you:

βœ”οΈ Which topics carry more weight
βœ”οΈ How questions are structured
βœ”οΈ Where you should focus your time and energy

Studying without understanding the blueprint is like preparing for an exam without knowing the rules.

In this video, I break down why every pharmacy technician candidate should understand the updated PEBC blueprint before starting their preparation journey.

Preparation is not just about studying harder β€” it’s about studying smarter πŸ’‘

10 days of MCQ! ✍🏽

Day 7: TERATOGENICITY

Answer: D β€” Methotrexate
Methotrexate is an absolute contraindication in pregnancy β€” it is a folic acid antagonist that inhibits DNA synthesis, causing severe fetal malformations and fetal death. It is used to treat ectopic pregnancies precisely because of this effect. Patients must use reliable contraception during and for at least 3 months after stopping methotrexate. Azithromycin and heparin are considered compatible with pregnancy. Acetaminophen at recommended doses is generally safe. Other teratogens to know: isotretinoin, valproic acid (neural tube defects), warfarin (weeks 6–12), and ACE inhibitors/ARBs in the 2nd and 3rd trimester.
