Do I have toenail fungus? This is a question I’m often asked. White areas on nails are often a result of superficial damage from pedicures. These white spots or flaky areas result from layers of nail being filed off or lifting off unevenly during the prep and removal of polish. Buffing the nail can help the appearance until new nails grow in.

To end ingrown toenails for good surgical removal by a podiatrist is recommended. Foot Care Nurses can help to temporarily relieve pain ….until it grows back again. The cause is usually one of three: genetics, tight footwear, improperly trimmed toenails! 🙃
