October 15 is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day. I encourage you to honour the babies we didn’t get to meet or said goodbye to too soon by lighting a candle at 7 PM, joining the Wave of Light. 🕯️

Feeling a little feisty today 😅

I will never ever be rude to a provider for doing their job because they’re literally just doing what they’ve been trained to do. What saddens me is that their training often does not serve or respect women and it’s been accepted as “normal”, “that’s just how birth goes”. Women deserve better than outdated policies dictate.

No clue how to change that ^ (if anyone’s figured it out, please tell me?)
What I DO know is how to help you navigate it all so you can feel in control, respected & like an active participant in your own birth.

And of course I’ll help you breastfeed that sweet baby, too. 😘

Even if your plan is “get the epidural”, you still need skills and a plan in place for:
- if labour progresses quickly and your drive to the hospital is intense
- If the anesthesiologist is called into surgery and can’t come for several hours
- If it fails (happens more than you’d expect)

It’s important for EVERYONE to have a plan and skills for labour. I recently had a mama planning a scheduled C-section go into labour before the scheduled date and had an unexpected VBAC.
