Each year on International Overdose Awareness Day, communities around the world come together to remember those who have died from an overdose and to recognize the impact the unregulated drug supply continues to have on individuals, families and communities.

Late last week and earlier this week, GEPH staff members joined the City of Brantford, County of Brant, and Norfolk County for flag raisings to recognize International Overdose Awareness Day. We also joined many other community partners on August 31 to honour the lived experiences of those who have been affected by overdose.

We are honoured to have been a part of these community events and to help share stories and reduce the stigma around overdose.
