WELCOME JOHANNA!

We are so lucky to have six new Dalhousie Medical School LIC students joining us for the next year to live and learn on the South Shore. Let's get to know them better.

Originally from Dartmouth, Johanna (she/her) completed her undergraduate at Dalhousie University in Medical Sciences (with a minor in English), before heading to Dalhousie for Medical School. In her spare time she enjoys baking, crocheting, trivia, and getting active.

In medicine, she is particularly interested in pathology and sexual health, but she is truly excited by everything! She is looking forward to doing her clerkship in such a wonderful community.

If you see Johanna in the hospital, the clinic or in the community, please extend a big South Shore welcome!

WELCOME JONATHAN!

We are so lucky to have six new Dalhousie Medical School LIC students joining us for the next year to live and learn on the South Shore. Let's get to know them better.

Jonathan was born in Halifax and grew up out by the airport in the small town of Grand Lake. After graduating from high school he completed a BSc in Psychology at Saint Mary's University. While there he worked part-time as a ward clerk on the IWK Birth Unit, where the incredible care team inspired him to apply to medical school.

His interests currently center around family medicine, psychiatry, and palliative care. His favourite part of being a medical student is the privilege of hearing patients' stories, and he is excited to meet and learn from everyone in the South Shore community.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, long walks outside, playing the piano, and swimming laps. He would love to hear your recommendations for outdoor places to explore or restaurants around town to try!

We have a new physician moving here in mid-January from the UK, seeking temporary accommodations (6+ months) while they get settled. They are looking for something in either Mahone Bay or Bridgewater:
- preference for a house with outdoor access (yard)
- 2 bedrooms
- unfurnished or partially furnished

WELCOME DAVID!

We are so lucky to have six new Dalhousie Medical School LIC students joining us for the next year to live and learn on the South Shore. Let's get to know them better.

Originally from Halifax, David and grew up doing competitive sailboat racing. He moved to Toronto where he completed his undergrad in Biochemistry at UofT before returning to complete a masters in Biochemistry at Dalhousie.

Since moving back to Halifax, he began spending most of his free time rock climbing, but continues to enjoy joining his family to compete in sailboat racing at Chester race week and throughout the summer.
