No child should have to survive in a landfill.

In parts of Nicaragua, families are living in extremely difficult conditions where daily life depends on what can be found or salvaged. Access to food is very limited, and young children are especially vulnerable.

Malnutrition is linked to nearly half of all deaths in children under five worldwide. For those who survive, the effects can last a lifetime.

Speroway's Nutrition programs are helping provide food, care, and support to children in Nicaragua and in communities across Haiti, Kenya, Malawi, and the Dominican Republic.

In Nicaragua, a young mother named Chelsea is doing everything she can to care for her daughter, Lori Annie.

At just 18 months old, Lori Annie is already fighting the effects of malnutrition. She has been very sick, and her growth has been impacted during these critical early years.

Malnutrition is more than hunger. It weakens the body, slows development, and can have lasting effects on a child’s future.

Through Speroway's nutrition programs, children receive food support, vitamins, and care from local nurses and community workers, which is helping them grow and stay healthy.
