The word “Diet” —is the sum of food consumed by a person, a diet is truly not a method to drain every ounce of happiness from your soul- to then starve in hopes of becoming skinny..
Diet tips = clean eating/ proper nutrition vs starving yourself.. starving yourself will accomplish absolute nothing except create a hungry monster 👹
1. Monitor what your eating and your intake of calories- MyFitnessPal is a FREE amazing app where you can input everything you eat and find out your daily intake of calories. You’ll be surprised how quickly they add up!
**No cheating- cheating will only result in you cheating yourself
2. Clean eating?
I have so many clients who tell me that they are “clean eaters” but do you know what the definition of “clean eating” actually is? - because I don’t.. no one knows what “clean eating” is as it’s a made up term which is yet another fad diet slang word.. if you eat a piece of toast does that make you a dirty eater (if gluten is on the non clean list that is..)
Moving on..
3. Lifelong commitment -
Yes you read that right, nothing happens overnight. Eating 1 week worth of salads in 4 days will not bring upon extreme health or rapid weightloss. It may bring upon loose bowel movements with the increase in fiber, however only consistency and patience will pay off when it comes to weigh loss via proper nutrition.
Buying books on juice diets, smoothie fasts and military diets again, will only create stress and set you back a few weeks once you realize none of these fads are sustainable or result driven.
When it comes to your “diet” only you can experiment with what works for you, what doesn’t- what makes you gassy, bloated or sick. But I do recommend monitoring your calories and keeping a food journal for your own records - find your limits and play within them ✌🏼
