Myofascial release is one of the most underrated tools in a massage therapist's practice. 💡

Fascia, the connective tissue that wraps around every muscle, organ, and structure in your body, can become restricted and painful after injury, repetitive strain, or prolonged stress.

Myofascial release uses slow, sustained pressure to gently free these restrictions, allowing the body to move with more ease and less pain.

Save this if you've had massage before but never felt lasting change.

Rest is not laziness. It's medicine. 💙

Your body does its most important repair work during periods of deep rest, not during productivity.

At Soma Burnaby, we believe that carving out time for intentional self-care is one of the most effective things you can do for your long-term health. When did you last fully exhale?

Save this as a reminder that rest belongs on your to-do list.

Chronic pain affects sleep. Poor sleep makes pain worse. It's a cycle that can feel impossible to break. 🎯

Sleep deprivation lowers your pain threshold, increases inflammation, and keeps your nervous system in a reactive state.

Treatments that calm the nervous system, like craniosacral therapy and acupuncture, can help interrupt this cycle from both directions.

✨ Nurturing care with Delina Somani is one of the most unique offerings at Soma Burnaby. ✨

Her approach is quiet, intentional, and deeply supportive—creating space for the body to feel safe, settled, and cared for.

This work goes beyond the physical, offering a place to slow down and reconnect.

Three things you can do tonight to help your nervous system shift into rest mode. 🎯

First, dim the lights an hour before bed. Bright light suppresses melatonin and keeps your brain in daytime mode. Second, hold a warm drink with both hands and take three slow breaths before your first sip. The warmth and the pause signal safety to your nervous system. Third, do a simple body scan from head to feet, just noticing without fixing. It interrupts the mental loop and brings you back into your body.

What's one thing you already do to wind down? Drop it in the comments!
