Living together is not the same as building a community.
I was invited to raise awareness on autism, and this experience reminded me that awareness is only the beginning.
We must acknowledge that when it comes to research, inclusion, and uncomfortable but necessary conversations, we still have a lot of room for improvement.
A true community is built when families are heard, differences are respected, and no one feels invisible or left behind.
