🔍 What Causes Warts?
Warts are small, non-cancerous skin growths caused by certain strains of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). They can appear on the hands, feet, face, neck, or other areas of the body and may spread through direct contact or from picking and shaving over the area.
Common signs of a wart:
✔ Rough, raised skin growth
✔ Small black dots (clotted blood vessels)
✔ Skin-colored, white, pink, or brown appearance
✔ May be single or appear in clusters
While some warts may disappear on their own, others can persist for months or even years. Professional treatment may help remove the wart and reduce the risk of spreading to other areas.
Not every bump on the skin is a wart. Skin tags, milia, sebaceous hyperplasia, and other benign lesions can look similar, which is why a proper assessment is important before treatment.
