July 24th is International Self Care Day which promotes self-care as a vital foundation of good health care. This day is a reminder for people around the world to prioritize self-care and make it a part of their lifestyle.
Why does self-care matter? It matters because:
✨protects and maintains your physical and mental health and well-being
✨reduces stress & builds resilience
✨helps you cope with life’s challenges
✨helps keep your body and mind functioning well
✨Every bit of self-care you do contributes to a healthier you

Since self-care looks different for everyone, you can tailor the day to your specific needs. Here are a few ways to celebrate and prioritize your wellness:
🌻Spend time in Nature
⭐Practice Mindfulness (yoga, journaling, meditation)
💤 Focus on Daily Habits (sleeping, eating, drinking water)
🌍 Connect with your community/friends/family

When you take care of yourself to stay well, you are practicing self-care. Staying well includes taking care of your whole self: physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Disability Pride Month is celebrated in Canada every July to recognize the strength, resilience, and contributions of the disabled community. The grassroots movement champions disability as a natural part of human diversity while raising awareness against ableism and systemic barriers.

The Disability Pride Flag was originally created by Ann Magill in 2019 and updated in 2021 to be more accessible. The flag features a black background to mourn victims of ableist violence, and a diagonal stripe that cuts across the field, symbolizing breaking through societal barriers.

The stripe is made up of six colors:

Red – Physical disabilities
Gold – Neurodivergence
White – Invisible and undiagnosed disabilities
Blue – Psychiatric disabilities
Green – Sensory disabilities

Together, these colors show that disability spans across all borders and communities. Disability Pride is about visibility, joy, resistance, and belonging—for everyone, everywhere.

June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, an opportunity to learn about the unique cultures, traditions and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis who have lived on this land since time immemorial and whose presence continues to shape Canada today.

The best way to gain a deeper understanding of First Nations, Inuit and Métis experiences is through their own voices:

• read books by Indigenous authors
• attend events and community gatherings
• watch films or performances
• listen to music by Indigenous artists
• follow First Nations, Inuit and Métis creators on social media

We encourage you to take some time to learn more about First Nations, Inuit and Métis as well as our collective past.
