The chin and chin shadow are two areas that should almost always be treated together.
As we age, we lose fat and structural support through the lower face, including the area between the lower lip and chin. Over time, this can create a deeper shadow or “dip” that contributes to heaviness and disconnect through the lower face.
When we project or support the chin with filler, it can sometimes make that shadow appear even more noticeable if it isn’t addressed alongside it. That’s why treating the chin alone often isn’t enough.
The chin shadow helps create the transition between the lip, chin, and jawline. By softening and supporting this area, the lower face appears smoother, lighter, and more cohesive overall.
We’re not trying to make the chin “bigger,” but rather create flow and continuity so the result looks balanced and natural from every angle. Like your IRL filter.
