The Energized Woman

The Energized Woman Holistic nutrition & health support for women struggling to beat chronic fatigue. Hi, I'm Daina, an uncomplicated Holistic Nutrition Consultant.

I help busy women who are struggling with chronic fatigue, extremely low energy, stubborn tummy fat and terrible sleep balance their hormones so that they can stop feeling overwhelmed by their complex range of confusing (yet very real) symptoms. I coach women to choose the right foods to promote amazing sleep, abundant energy (like, so much you don't know what to do with it all!), and transform th

eir bodies while feeling fully in control. I like 20 minute recipes, I like fast kitchen clean up, and I like finding healthy food options that meet my clean eating criteria (so that I don't have to make them myself) - and this is my approach to helping you. You're busy, you're stressed, you're tired - food needs to be easy and quick, right?

Brain fog, 3 AM waking, exhaustion despite “doing everything right”, normal lab results despite persistent symptoms (cravings, weight gain, anxiety, sadness, hair loss)...

These aren’t a long list of separate symptoms that pop up for busy women over 40.

Together, they indicate how much energy, focus, and capacity you have to rely on each day.

So that lab test or health pro who just brushed you off as “oh that’s normal, it’s just what women in perimenopause have to go through!”

Tell them where to go…

Because the fact that YOU feel something is wrong is way more important than some number on a test.

THAT is the key driver in how I help women like you sort through that laundry list of symptoms to uncover the problem to focus on.

Because it’s a confusing AF world out there.

Common and costly lab tests can mean you end up chasing another number with another treatment, supplement, injection or food list…

OR it can mean you go home totally defeated.

It’s my mission to help as many women as possible sail through perimenopause without signs or symptoms holding them back.

And I want to help YOU…

So please, drop a number below for which problem you’d like to see more data-driven, clear and simple strategies for:

1 - waking at 3 AM
2 - brain fog / forgetfulness
3 - making sense of your symptoms

And don’t forget to FOLLOW to stay in touch!

Are you ready to STOP doing this? ⤵️

You gain weight, so you start tracking calories or cutting carbs.

You can’t sleep, so you take melatonin.

Brain fog? You try an anti-inflammatory diet.

Feel sluggish? Go on another juice cleanse.

Stress? Adaptogens.

Bloating? Probiotics and digestive enzymes.

And sure, some of those things help…for a little while.
But if you want to eat without tracking, sleep while on vacation, or get through dinner without bloating,

I wouldn’t keep treating those things as separate problems.

I’d look at the pattern.

Because you probably didn’t suddenly gain 15 pounds because you forgot how to eat. And your body didn’t randomly decide to become tired, foggy, stressed and uncomfortable all at once.

With my clients, I often find that several seemingly unrelated symptoms connect through digestion, inflammation, detoxification and the way those systems are interacting with hormonal changes.

The individual fixes aren’t necessarily wrong but often they ARE incomplete.

And once you understand the pattern, you can stop building your life around a growing list of things you have to track, take, restrict and remember.

Find out how to start noticing the right patterns in my free guide - link in bio!

I just had my hormones tested, and combined with my age, cycle changes and symptoms, the picture is clear: I’m well into perimenopause.

And, here’s what it feels like over here:

→ My hair grows ridiculously fast and doesn’t fall out.

→ My periods are lighter and easier.

→ My mood is calm. Anxiety is rare, and when it happens, there’s usually a legitimate reason.

→ My weight responds without me giving up the foods I love.

→ Exercise makes me stronger.

→ My brain works when I need it.

→ I sleep through the night.

→ And my energy stays remarkably steady all day.

I’m not sharing this because I’m a unicorn...

I’m sharing it because women SHOULD feel a lot like me but instead…

👉Women are being taught to accept a long list of symptoms after 40 as normal, and assume hormones explain every single one.

I don’t make that assumption about my own body.

I stay focused on what my body needs.

❌I don’t buy a laundry list of supplements because a hormone guru recommends them.

❌I don’t remove foods without understanding why or whether it makes sense for me.

❌And I don’t dismiss a new symptom simply because it can be labelled “perimenopause.”

I look at my nutrients, digestion, elimination, inflammation, blood sugar, sleep, stress and hormonal patterns, all in the context of my actual life.

Then I eat simple meals, use a few carefully chosen supplements and stay consistent.

Do I still occasionally eat too many chips, sleep poorly or feel a little off? Obviously.

The difference is that I usually know where to look and which few things will help me feel like myself again.

Perimenopause is *part* of my health picture.

I’ve just never allowed it to become the *only* explanation.

Some days, you wake up so refreshed that you just know you’ll knock off your entire to-do list without blinking.

Other days, you have a mile-long list of tasks and wonder how you’ll finish anything because your energy is so awful.

After 40, a lot of women live in that second kind of day: distrusting themselves, frustrated by their lack of energy, and hesitant to add anything else to their plate.

The first step in trusting your energy again is to focus on TWO health markers:

💩Poop.
💤Sleep.

That’s it.

This is literally where I begin every client’s personalized nutrition journey.

Because if either (or both) of these are off, you’ll struggle to feel energized, crush your projects, and summon the creativity and problem-solving skills you need to thrive in your busy life.

And I don’t mean simply p**ping every day.

Or putting in eight hours lying in bed each night.

It’s about quality…

→ Are you eliminating waste in a timely manner? (Most women aren’t, despite p**ping daily.)
→ Is your sleep actually restorative?

To improve both, we look at how well your entire body is functioning: digestion, detoxification, immunity, nervous system, hormones.

👉An estrogen imbalance can lead to constipation.
👉Poor stomach acid may mean proteins aren’t broken down properly.
👉Sluggish detoxification can slow bile flow, which slows waste removal.

All of these things are connected and neither p**p nor sleep is as simple as mainstream health makes it seem.

So if you’ve tried everything to trust your energy again, these are the two markers I’d explore next…holistically and deeply.

And just like that…protein is the villain!

Like you needed another food to be afraid of…

This statement is not scientific fact - it’s a misconstrued claim from a paper that reviewed previously published studies about protein, amino acids and aging.

It was NOT a controlled, unbiased experiment.

It was a narrative review, used to organize information and generate hypotheses for future research. Speculation that will feed into ongoing research that - hopefully - will be run in a controlled, unbiased way.

Like so many food and nutrition headlines, ONE part gets pulled out (even though there was no “finding” for it) and turned into a dramatic statement that gets everyone clicking.

This is why nutrition feels so unnecessarily confusing!

Protein is a KEY macronutrient and how much you need depends on so many factors, like your age, activity level, immune health, energy levels, digestion and lifestyle.

Protein is essential to build and maintain muscle, repair tissue, and produce enzymes, hormones and neurotransmitters.

The paper focused heavily on restricting specific amino acids and how that might affect certain pathways connected to aging.

That is very different from proving that eating eggs, chicken, fish, lentils or a protein smoothie makes humans age faster.

As we age, maintaining muscle becomes increasingly important for blood sugar regulation, metabolic health, strength, resilience and our ability to stay active and independent.

Could extremely high protein intake be unnecessary for some sedentary people? Of course.

Does every woman need 150 grams of protein because someone on Instagram said so? No.

Does this narrative review prove that women should eat less protein to live longer? Also no.

Nutrition deserves more thought than “Food A is bad” or “Diet B prevents disease.”

And your body deserves recommendations based on far more than the latest headline.

No one told Jane that after 40, life would come with this many number problems.

→ for macros where “eat clean” used to be enough
→ for bedtime routines that used to be just go to bed and fall asleep (and stay asleep)
→ for self-care regiments that used to be a night out with girlfriends was enough to de-stress
→ for the schedule calculations to fit in all the “hormone balancing” tips, supplements and drink concoctions around working hard and living life…

While this math may seem overly complicated, if you know what YOUR body needs, it become a lot simpler.

Because together we take away the extraneous numbers that are pure BS,

And apply the right one to YOUR body and what it needs to restore health and vitality to the parts that keep you awake at 3 AM, steal your focus in the middle of an important meeting, and make you want to scream when a colleague disregards your instructions (again).

If you’re Jane - you deserve to know what YOU need to do to TRUST your energy again! (there’s a short checklist of how to get started in my bio link, if you’re curious)

Drop a 🙌in the comments if you’re tired of the confusing AF numbers too!

Strategy.

Women who go from pushing through each day,

Where normal demands suddenly feel disproportionately overwhelming,

Where health treatments that should make her feel better leave her more exhausted…

TO:
→ waking up refreshed after a solid, restful sleep
→ creative ideas flowing and project ex*****on happening (on schedule)
→ TRUSTING their energy to keep up with the demands today, tomorrow and on the weekend so she can confidently commit to a 4-week course, a fast-tracked project, or exciting new marketing launch

Have a strategy.

A strategy built around THEIR OWN bodies, the nutrition that they need, the body systems that are struggling.

They don’t follow fad diets like carnivore or low-carb.
They don’t take random supplements because Jane on Facebook said it worked for her.
They don’t just eat “healthy” foods because an influencer popped up another popular list.

They find out WHY they’re battling fatigue and brain fog in the first place, WHY they can no longer rely on their bodies to keep up with the demands of their day…

And get a crystal clear, simple plan that also aligns with their hectic schedule.

No guesswork.
No band-aid solutions.
No endless researching.
No bouncing from one idea to the next each month.

Women who get results - that are sustainable - go for the EXACT STRATEGY that’s right for them…and stick with it long enough for it to work.

You can see what this might look like for you in the free guide that’s linked in my bio!

08/02/2026

❌Ditch the low-carb diets, calorie counting apps and restrictive eating principles.

❌Stop taking random supplements your friend (or a stranger) tried

❌Never buy another ‘nutritional’ package, drink powder or challenge again.

❌End the dance with damaging juice cleanses.

❌Banish mornings without breakfast.

😎Instead, I dare you to:

✔Eat 30 grams of protein at breakfast.
✔Load up on plants at every meal.
✔Add 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed to your diet every day.
✔Slow down at mealtime and eat until you’re (almost) full.
✔Enjoy 1-2 “fun” meals each week.
✔Work with a nutrition expert to find out what your own body needs.

🫶But most of all…I DARE you to let go of what other’s SAY you *should* do…and figure out WHY you’re struggling with exhaustion, overwhelm, brain fog, mood swings and loss of trust in yourself as a woman over 40.

(hint - the answer is NOT “my hormones are changing” or “it’s stress” - I can go further on this but grab my free guide for a deeper explanation - link in bio!)

Comment 👏below if you believe more women over 40 need to understand the WHY behind their changing health!

Comment ENERGY and I’ll send you my top 3 food strategies to help beat perimenopause fatigue, and brain fog.

Supplements CAN be helpful…in the right context for the right woman.

Generic supplement advice like take magnesium glycinate at bedtime or omega 3 to reduce inflammation may sound amazing…

But if you’re haven’t first been strengthening digestion, immunity and total body detoxification,

That can be a complete waste of time and money.

Your body needs to be capable of breaking down, absorbing and using those supplements → it also needs to be capable of channeling the nutrients to the right spots for the goals YOU want to hit.

The supplement industry is largely a money-making scheme…sure, there are great brands (but most women don’t see those ones on IG…) but they still only work if your body is ABLE to use them.

→ Poor diet, inflammatory foods, or gut infections block or worsen the effects of many supplements.
→ Sluggish detoxification gets slower because it’s trying to deal with toxic fillers and extra nutrients it doesn’t have the resources to deal with.
→ And digestion has to work harder to break down supplements (your body wants nutrients from FOOD - it’s designed to use that more efficiently).

So if it feels like your supplement stack isn’t working…you’re probably bang on!

And we can dive into WHY together.
