Compression Stockings in the Summer?!

Yes, just because it is hotter than the devil's armpit outside doesn't mean you have to stop wearing your compression garments. In fact, if they help manage swelling, varicose veins, or lymphedema, you absolutely SHOULD keep wearing them!

"But Kenrooooon, they're uncomfortable and sweaty and I want to wear sandals and show off my pedicure!!"

Here are our fitter's tips to make wearing compression more bearable:

1. Ask about natural fiber options, such as Sigvaris' bamboo, linen, and cotton fabrics. Natural fibers are sweat-wicking and breathable, keeping you cool and dry all day long

2. Show off your pedicures and wear those flip flops with open-toed stockings!

3. Wash your garments regularly. Sweat, sunscreen, and body oils can affect the elasticity of your stockings as well as cause unwanted irritation. A gentle wash each night helps them stay comfortable and extends their life.
