Hello Everyone!
We are so happy and proud of Albertans for having done their part to help flatten the curve, having stayed home as much as possible, and have taken the appropriate measures to decrease the spread of COVID-19. Now, as our opening date approaches, we would like to give our friends and clients some heads-up about our new safety provisions in place to help continue to do our part in keeping everyone safe and healthy.
First and foremost, if you have an appointment scheduled and feel sick or have symptoms of COVID-19, please notify your artist as soon as possible. We are happy to reschedule! The same goes for anyone who has had international travel within 14 days prior to their appointment. Exceptions may be made if you can prove that you’ve been tested for COVID-19 and received a negative result within 2 days of your appointment.
Secondly, we are afraid that until further notice no friends or companions accompanying people who are getting tattooed. We’ve always been really comfortable with friends and buddies coming in for emotional support or to help keep people entertained, but we just can not have that extra traffic in the shop during this time. As well, to reduce people’s exposure, we are asking that clients arrive on time to their appointments, and Not Early. Our waiting room is a bit on the small side and we don’t want to have you lovely folks waiting in there together.
Being a smaller custom shop, Electric Odyssey Tattoo is Appointment Only. We have only on the rarest of occasions been able to accept Walk-ins in the past, and moving forward, do not anticipate being able to accept walk-ins. When COVID-19 is a thing of the past we will be happy to welcome people to come in and chat, and look through portfolios, however for now entry into the shop will be very much only by appointment.
Another thing that will be required of both Artists and those getting tattooed is the use of Masks. Non-medical disposable or non-medical reusable cloth masks are both acceptable. We ask that you enter the shop with your mask already on, and that you do your best not to touch it during your time in the studio. Unfortunately, this means that any snacks or drinks (which we encourage you to still bring!) will need to be consumed outside since it requires you to touch and remove your mask. Hands will need to be sanitized upon entry and re-entry to the studio as well. If you do not have a mask, we will have reusable cloth ones at the shop available for purchase.
To reduce communal handling of clipboards and pens, waivers will now be electronic and will have to be signed and sent back to your artist prior to the beginning of your appointment.
And that is the bulk of it! Please rest assured that on our end, on top of our already stringent cleaning and sterilization procedures, that we are taking extra time and care everyday to make the shop as clean and safe as possible for our artists and clients. Thank you for your patience and understanding with these new requirements in our shop.
