Did you know that with just a handful of simple ingredients you can make non-toxic, organic, good for you, good for the planet, hormone disruptor-free, fragrance-free, additive-free, herbal, small-batch recipes like this one for you and your family at home?

Here’s a super simple calendula honey balm you can make at home that is amazing for dry skin, irritations, eczema, protecting your skin from nasty weather, etc.

Here’s how we make it:
3 tbsp calendula infused oil (click the linked reel to see how to make it)
2 tbsp beeswax
4 tbsp shea butter
1 tsp raw honey
a few drops of optional essential oil of choice (I chose lavender)

In a double boiler, gently melt together the infused oil, beeswax, and shea. Let it cool slightly (you do not want to add the honey while it’s too warm as it will loose its beneficial properties and likely separate).
Once cooled, add the honey and optional essential oil. Pure oil-and-wax balms do not contain water, meaning honey won’t truly bind and may pool at the bottom so keep whisking or blending as the balm cools down and thickens so the honey doesn’t settle out before the wax sets. pour into jar or tin. Let fully set before sealing and enjoy!

I know it's August and it feels like bug season's winding down but mosquitoes are still out in force through fall, and ticks actually get more active this time of year. Don't put the bug spray away yet 🌿

Ever wonder why summer outdoors feels like a constant battle against bugs? Mosquitoes, ticks, it seems like pest populations explode every season. 🦟👀

People are realizing we don't have to rely on harsh synthetic chemicals to stay protected outdoors. We can take things back into our own hands.

Catnip contains a natural compound called nepetalactone, which testing has shown to be significantly more effective than DEET at repelling pests. 🤯

While you can rub fresh leaves on your skin, you need a solid botanical balm if you want something that actually stays on when you sweat and hike.
