Today, I would like to take a moment to honour all of the great men, and woman that helped us out to give this country a fighting chance. I would like to personally thank my Grandpa Norm, who served in the Second World War, and was a tanker. There are some pretty neat stories I have been told over the years about him.

Take a moment today to reflect on these brave souls that fought their hearts out day in and day out, no matter the weather. Some did not come home either, make sure you hug your loved ones extra tight.

I could not imagine the pain, and suffering all of these men, and woman went through on a daily basis.

RIP Grandpa, thanks so much for your service for all of those years. You are a hero to many, and I would also love to give a special shout out to my Uncle Mike, who served in the military as well for his whole career, he has seen a lot as well. Another true warrior in my eyes.

I will always remember, and never forget what these people have done for our country!

Always showing up for your clients no matter what, and doing it consistently all the time goes a long ways all around the board.

Clients truly value these things, and do see this as a value and trustworthy relationship, and that is what will keep them coming back, referring their friends and family to you! Your book of business is built on returning clients, and referrals. Do not burn those bridges with clients.

You are going to mess up sometimes, that is totally ok as well, the main thing is you are honest about your screw up, and own it, and they will appreciate that so much more than giving them the run around.

If you say you're going to do something, you do it! If you don't they do remember that, and they do not forget at all, it may come out down the road to bite you in the butt.

Making yourself present is way better then perfection at the end of the day, do you agree?

I am sure we have all done the online dating scene! Heck that is where I met my now wife, and it was amazing getting to know her before we met in person for our first date.

Well it is the same sort of thing in this industry, lots of people do their shopping or research online before they actually go into a dealership as well, they will go checkout Google Reviews that are written about you, however sometimes those are very subjective, they will also go and checkout social media profiles of yours, and see what type of stuff you're posting. So be sure to portray yourself online as you would in real life.

I encourage you all to post daily, and be consistent with things, it is not going to happen over night at all, building that foundation is the most important thing in life. Once you have that solid foundation, you can then start building from the ground up, and everything else will start to fall into place for you.

So today go out, and post something on any of the major platforms, and do not worry what others think of it, not everyone is going to like it! Do not be scared to take chances in life, and put yourself out there, you'd be surprised hat will happen.

I have a 2026 GMC Terrain Denali, with 10,841kms on it, that is a demo that must go! All month of November you’re getting a designer handbag with each vehicle purchase. Great time to put something under the tree for that special someone!

Great savings to be had as well! Let’s find this a new home before Santa comes around.

When you hear great stories or comments told you that the client chose you, not the dealership you work at! Does it not feel great to hear that, it just goes to show kindness, honesty, transparency, and integrity truly go along ways in this industry. People truly remember things you have done for them, said to them, how you treated them. They will tell people to come and see you as well, this business is built on referrals, and word of mouth.

Remember that next time you talk rude, or ignorant to a client, trust me when I say this, they will go and tell everyone they know not to come buy off of you, and that has a long lasting impact on your career, so take a minute to bite your tongue next time you feel something rude is going to come out of your mouth. It is not only going to ruin that relationship with that client, also a long list of people they may have told if you would have treated them differently.

Would love to hear others thoughts on this, have you ever chosen to buy something off of someone solely bases on them as a person?

It is like this anywhere, it is not all about skill in this industry at all. I have come to learn that quite quickly over the years here in the auto industry. It is truly all about patience, over being pushy on so many levels.

Patience will always win at the end of the day, and it will shine through tenfold in your clients eyes. Sometimes being the most patient sales person works a lot better, than being a pushy one at the end of the day. You never want to come across as desperate, people can really smell it from a mile away.

You want to show them you're listening to them, if they say they need space or sometime to think about things, they most likely do. If they object things you're telling them, or have a no all the time, it is most likely something you're doing that you need to change. Most people will buy from you when they feel a sense of trust, I know I would much rather buy off someone who has shown they care, over the sales person that does not shut up at all.

You will last a lot longer in this industry if you're patient, it is not going to come over night at all, on average it truly takes a solid 2-3 years to really get your feet wet! So if you're new in this industry please stay patient, your time will definitely come. Do not give up in the first month or two. It truly is a grind!

So what are your thoughts on this, do you think patience pays a lot more then skill?

I remember that first month, even that first week to be exact, so when I first started in this industry, it truly was trying times for everyone in the early stages of 2020. I landed my first job at a dealership, only to be let go not to long after. I was just really starting to get my feet wet, than the whole world seemed to shut down.

At the same time, I had a lot of time on my hands, which is never good for someone like myself who has ADHD, and other conditions to boot. It took me a few months to get into somewhere else, needless to say I did not stay long there either, for very good reasons as well, as I could not get on board with how slimy, and offside this particular dealership was. They would prey on the vulnerable, and did not care what they did to get something done. That is definitely not what I signed up to do when I wanted to get into this industry of automotive sales. I continued to search, and landed at a Kia dealership, which I stayed at for almost 4 years, until it was time to move on from there, new management, ownership etc. Just was not the right fit for me, I had outgrown there and the mentality as well.

I did land on my feet where I am today, and I am so much happier here, the management cares about you, asks if you need help, wants to see you succeed. They do things for you, and go out of their way to make sure you're ok as well. Such a family oriented place here.

I always remember where I came from, and do like watching the new people succeed, remember those people at the start of your career who were there for you, and also never forget about the ones who did not think you would succeed at all. Keep putting in the work and this industry will reward you in so many magnificent ways.

You have to definitely prove yourself, however you should not have the beg to be seen anywhere though. Make sure you're doing things for the right reasons.

When purchasing a vehicle, are you the type of person who solely buys based off the price? Or would you rather buy off someone who's honest, transparent, treats you with dignity, and respect.

Sometimes, I know you may have a budget, and need to stay within that. In this industry, I have seen way too many clients go to another dealership solely based on price, and than come back down the road saying they had the worst experience ever where they did buy from, cause they're treated like a number, and that is all you are to most places.

Here at Bennett GM, we strive to go above and beyond for every single client, and if there is something wrong we are here to work with you to fix things, and make sure you leave with a positive experience, we have been in business since 1931, and love to have so many long time loyal clients.

Hope you are all having an amazing day, and shoot me a message if you ever have any questions, I am always here to help.

When Leasing Actually Makes More Sense Than Buying

You’ve probably heard this before:

“Leasing’s a scam.”
“You’re just renting the car.”
“You’re better off owning it.”

Here’s the truth:
That mindset’s stuck in the early 2000s.

There are actually times where leasing just makes way more sense, and if no one’s ever explained why, let me break it down for you:

✅ You drive under 20,000 km a year.
If you’re not racking up highway miles, leasing keeps your payments lower, keeps you in warranty, and keeps you stress-free when it’s time to move on.

✅ You like new vehicles every 2–4 years.
No selling. No trade-in games. Just drop it off and hop into something newer, safer, and way more tech’d out.

✅ You use your vehicle for business.
Leasing often comes with better write-offs and keeps your cash flow flexible. That’s real talk, not tax advice, but something worth asking your accountant about.

💡 Bonus: Most leases end before big repair bills even start. You stay in warranty, and you stay in control.

Bottom line?
Leasing isn’t for everyone. But for some people, it’s the smartest play on the board. The key is actually seeing the real numbers and making a move that fits your lifestyle.

If you ever want a side-by-side breakdown between leasing and financing, I’ll walk you through it. No pressure. Just straight-up info so you can decide what’s right for you.

🚨 Being “persistent” doesn’t mean being pushy. 🚨

If your follow-up message is passive-aggressive, snarky, or entitled…
You're not following up.
You're burning a bridge.

I'll be real—I've made this mistake.

In my earlier years in car sales, I sent messages that came from a place of frustration and pressure. I thought I was being aggressive in a good way. I thought, “If I just keep reaching out, they’ll eventually cave.”

But that mindset? It doesn't build relationships.
It kills them.

Over time, I’ve had to evolve. The real game is trust and timing.

✔️ I stopped relying on generic messages.
✔️ I started sending short, personalized videos.
✔️ I lead with value—not pressure.

Not everyone will respond—and that’s okay. But when they do, they remember how you made them feel the first time around.

Sales is a long game. Show up with professionalism, empathy, and value.

You don’t need to chase people down to win.
You need to build enough trust so they choose to come to you.

Let’s all raise the bar in this industry.
