Jennie Szwedo Neuromotionstudio Fun and unique brain based exercises to help you move better and get out of pain. I am also a Pain Educator and proud Z Health Instructor.

Hi, My name is Jennie and I am a mother of three children who feed into my love of coffee. I enjoy walking, biking, hockey, popcorn with peanut M and Ms, watching Netflix, practicing Yoga and Pilates and learning all I can about movement, the human body and our amazing brains. I am also a lover of gluten free baked goods, music and SLEEP!

Professionally, I am the creator of the Neuroscience Pi

lates System, which combines Pilates and functional neurology to improve movement and minimize pain. I have completed training and certifications in: Pilates, Yoga, Pre/Postnatal Fitness, Core and Pelvic Health, Functional Neurology, Pain Modulation and Foot Health. I am also a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner. I am located in Hespeler, Cambridge

I have lived a life a chronic pain and have identified with the feeling of being broken. It was the belief that I was not meant to enjoy life, that there would always be limitations out of my control that held me back from living life to the fullest and in fear of more pain. I have always been intrigued by the human body and all the amazingness we truly are. It was this interest that led me to start studying anatomy, biomechanics and most recently functional neurology and pain science. I studied these areas completely out of interest and a desire to create a movement practice where I could help others, not realizing how much the education would be helpful for me. I have learned we do not have to live in pain, and many of the limitations we believe we have, are false limitations we have created due to everything we have experienced. Non of us are broken and we are all capable of growth and change. We are all so much stronger, capable and resilient than we often recognize. We are not static and by using the power of neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain to change) and the absolute strength of our bodies, we can minimize pain and optimize our daily or athletic performance. I absolutely love what I do and although I love every aspect of my job, my favourite part is seeing the "aha" moments when clients really start to see change and recognize their movement potential, allowing them a sense of freedom to live the life they want. My practice is inspired by the following quote:

"There is more to us than we know. If we can be made to see it, perhaps for the rest of our lives we will be unwilling to settle for anything less". Kurt Hahn.

This is just off the shores of Haiti. An absolutely beautiful view.
As I sat on the balcony of my state room on a gigantic and glamorous cruise ship, I watched a fisherman leave the island in a small row boat. I remembered wondering if he was out fishing in hopes of bringing food back to his family so they could eat dinner that night. What an absolutely humbling moment.
This moment, although it took place many years ago, is something I continue to think about often, it doesn’t necessarily minimize my struggles, but it an important reminder to practice gratitude, which can be an effective practice for managing stress, anxiety and pain. Gratitude is medicine for our brains.🧠

Breathing through the right nostril can up regulate the sympathetic nervous system improving energy, focus and when done before a sporting event, athletic performance. For optimal benefits breathe with some force.

I am a sucker for gigantic mugs. This is my newest one and when full of water, this thing is heavy. Getting strong and staying hydrated.
And yes, I drink coffee out of this as well, I love my coffee.

Love this exercise for so many things including fall prevention and preparation, bone health and core strength. It can also be modified in many ways.
