Biodiversity is key to health of the ecosystem, and not surprisingly you and me. The more variety there is in nature, the greater our resilience when exposed to upheavals in the environment, be it, drought, pest, floods, and side effects from industrialization.

USC Canada is a non-profit, international development organization working to improve livelihoods by promoting agricultural biodiversity. The organization was founded in 1945 by Lotta Hitschmanova as the Unitarian Service Committee of Canada.

2nd yr. Interior Decorating students demonstrate taking a piece of "trash" and make it live again like art. Check out the Chair-ity Galla live auction April 3. Proof that garbage is only a state of mind. No such state should exist :)

A pretty momentous event took place on the 22nd in terms of Ontario's waste management strategy. EFW's are controversial in this part of the world, but a standard practice in other parts. Is this new facility a solution to a cultural problem of consumption and waste?

The Regional Municipalities of Durham and York in Ontario recently broke ground on their new Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC), a state-of-the-art, energy-from-waste (EFW) facility that was made possible due to funding from the federal Gas Tax...

Conestoga College is centrally located in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, a "hot-bed" of high tech manufacturing and automated equipment design and manufacturing.

What if..... we build our own on-site in-vessel composter? There are a lot of gains to consider with this: self sufficiency in managing our food waste effectively (food is over 50% of our annual combined landfilled waste) not to mention the savings in CO2 emissions and waste haulage service costs. That's the simple summary. Economics, shake hands with nature!
