Helloooo Community!!!
My apologies for my absence lately. After my Medical Emergency at the beginning of the year, things just kept going downhill. I'm hoping we are officially at the end of that!!!
I have been faced with a huge decision that has quite frankly kept me awake for many nights. I trust my community 100% so I have decided to ask you all what you think and why.
As a Live Blood Analyst who has worked in this realm for the better part of a decade. I was recently faced with a huge decision and it will forever change the way we do and see things. All Live Blood Analysts are being asked to go AI Mode. I have been approached by 2 different companies peddling their next Evolution.
I will say it is tempting because it would shave my Appointments down to about half an hour instead of 2 hours and then the time it takes to write the report. So my question is.....
TO AI OR TO NOT AI?????
I like doing things the old fashioned way because I believe there are less errors. I can hear the gasps now. Honestly.... machines are only as smart as the person inputting the data. The AI is not going to tell me if I'm in the wrong Zone, or that my microscope needs calibrating. IT is going to analyze whatever picture I put in front of it, even if it is bad quality. I have 5 Hematologists that come to me. Each one asked questions that floored me. One of them didn't even know that we were looking at a white Blood Cell. She said, "in my defence, everything we do is automated now. The Software does everything for us."
So if you are not trained well enough you could miss something? I am going to be brutally honest. I DO NOT LIKE TECHNOLOGY!!! While some people think of it as advancements.... I look at it like a hinderance. It is literally taking jobs away from Humans. Technology is wonderful ....until it doesn't work. I also don't want to be at the mercy of an AI GENERATED analysis who claims that chem trail are fake, nanotechnology is a conspiracy theory and that those poisonous jabs were the greatest invention.
Someone must PROGRAM this AI Program and do I trust it?? Many Live Blood Analysts do not subscribe to these things and are calling all these Anomalies, artefacts. Instead of what they really are. They claim that all these people are working with "dirty slides". This is not my belief. I have been so distraught over this that I considered quitting Live Blood all together,
Tell me your thoughts. The good, the bad and the ugly!!! I'm pretty sure I know what I'm going to do but I like to keep my Community involved.!!!
