Our "Hollywood Spectacular" is well under way and we couldn't have done with without the support from Carmack, Brad Lyseng's Memorial Fund and our team of volunteers Brian Dumont, Kent Freeborn, Bryan Johnson, Paulette Vickers, Jahnoya Wallace! In honour of Dolly Parton and her incredible love of books, reading and encouraging children to dream big, we wanted to do a little something of our own.

Dolly spent decades sharing joy, kindness and light with the world - and in our own small way, we’d like to pass a little of that light along.

So this week at The Essentials Boutique, children’s books are on us. 📖✨

Whether it’s a favourite story, a brand-new adventure or one of those books a child insists needs to be read approximately 47 times… we hope a few more books find their way into little hands and home libraries this week. 💙

Your Curbside Recycling Questions Answered!

Q: Where do I place my recycling and when is it collected?

A: Set your recycling bags out where your carts are collected, keeping them at least 1 m away from your black and green carts. Flatten cardboard and place it under the bags or inside a cardboard box. Collection takes place every two weeks on your regular collection day.

There was just one small problem… National Thrift Store Day landed on a day we’re closed. But around here, we'll take any reason to celebrate - especially when it gives us a chance to show our appreciation for our customers!

On June 25th, the Mayer Aquatic Centre staff had their annual BBQ and training day. Fellow employees, Tristen and Jessica were thrilled to not only be included, but to join in on an introductory lesson in American Sign Language. Staff learned the alphabet and some basic signs in an effort to break down communication barriers and build bridges of connection with them. Great job to the City of Camrose, Mayer Aquatic Centre on being an inclusive employer!
