Was fortunate to attend an amazing post-graduate BCST training on "Trauma, Emotions, Pain and the Vagus Nerve" with Steve Haines this month. Steve is a highly sought international Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy teacher, chiropractor and body worker based out of London and Geneva. http://www.stevehaines.net/
Recently found this interview where Steve touches on several highlights of the workshop I attended - the value of BCST to gently and safely enhance embodiment thereby alleviating trauma and pain, as well as the vital importance of healthy vagus nerve activity! (The Vagus connects the brain to the gut (intestines and stomach), heart, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, kidney, ureter, spleen, lungs, s*x organs (in females), neck (pharynx, larynx and esophagus), ears and the tongue. No other nerve in the body has such a broad and far reaching effect as the Vagus Nerve, and for this reason it's often called an "alternate spinal cord for the organs".
Please listen to get a bit of more in-depth perspective on the approach of BCST for trauma and pain!
