When I was a kid, I always hoped that this bridge would be opened so I could watch the ships come through. Of course my dad would start cursing every time this bridge opened. He just wanted to get to the other side. The Skyway in the background apparently was open in 1963 but I dont remember it because we'd always take the lift bridge because my dad refused to pay the toll to cross the Skyway.

Found the path again and only about 10 minutes behind.

I started the day in Port Colborne and met Bob who walks the trail annually for Parkinson's. As I was talking to him about my ties to the Niagara region and my Dad growing up in Thorold, I found out that he lived right across the street from my Aunt, Uncle and cousins, the Vendromins. What a small world!

The trail that I marked, apparently isn't a trail!
