Hi all! Due to the new regulations, effective February 1, 2026 with the PEI Dept. of Environment, I have been receiving a large amount of inquiries via messenger. It is much easier for me to respond to clients via telephone so please reach out to me at 902-393-5150 and I will return your call in the evening. At present, I am not taking phone calls during the weekdays as I am either with a client or at a Facility doing footcare.
Key points with footcare:
* Ensure the provider you are considering is qualified and has a legitimate Advanced and Diabetic Foot care course especially if you are a Diabetic or on a blood thinner or ASA.
* Ensure all instruments being used during the session are packaged to show they are sterilized in an Autoclave and they have numbers on the package that the provider is recording to track them.
* If you are unsure of the providers credentials or whether or not they are following the government guidelines, feel comfortable asking for proof as this is your health and you need to be diligent in ensuring safe practices with a qualified provider.
Lastly, if you would like to check out the new guidelines on the Dept of Environment website, you can google "personal service providers guidelines PEI" and you can read the section of Nursing Footcare. It is quite extensive but definitely a welcoming transformation for Nurses providing this service and for clients requiring a qualified footcare nurse.
Feel free to contact me at 902-393-5150 if you have any questions or concerns.
