September is World Alzheimer's Month, and last month we teased the return of a memorial bike ride event led by Chatham-Kent native, Shawn VanGassen!
Beginning on Saturday, September 12, at 6am, Shawn will be cycling approximately 500 kilometres in 24 hours in memory of his late mother, Patricia, who was living with dementia. Shawn began competitive cycling at the age of 14. Since then, he has participated in numerous races across Canada, Europe, and the United States, and was named Provincial Champion in 1990.
You are invited to support this meaningful cycling journey by making a donation to our organization! Contributions will be accepted through the end of this month for World Alzheimer’s Month.
Donations can be made the following ways:
🚴 Online at www.alzheimer.ca/chathamkent
🚴 Over the phone with a credit card by calling our office at 519-352-1043
🚴 By visiting our office at 36 Memory Lane in Chatham
🚴 By mailing a cheque to our office
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Shawn for honouring his mother’s memory once again and raising awareness with every kilometre of his journey! 💙
