I work as an RN in Perinatal and Paediatric specialties at Vernon Jubilee Hospital and as a Lactation Consultant in private practice. Additionally, I have been involved in La Leche League since 2015 and I have been a Volunteer Leader since 2018. My passion for breastfeeding began during my first pregnancy when I became aware of the difficulties that many parents had with breastfeeding/chestfeeding
. I was determined to exclusively breastfeed my baby, and despite a few bumps in our journey, we made it to three and a half years, through a second pregnancy, and tandem nursing. I have to be honest, I never imagined that I would be nursing a 3.5 year old toddler and an infant at the same time, but they have been the most rewarding years of my life! Through my practice as an RN, IBCLC, my intention is to help parents achieve their infant feeding goals through evidence-based knowledge, personalized support, and collaboration with other health care team members, starting in pregnancy and throughout the breastfeeding/chestfeeding journey. Breastfeeding/chestfeeding can be the most rewarding experience of one’s life, but for some it may also be one of the hardest things they have had to do. In partnership with my clients, I aim to help prevent, and solve, any breastfeeding/chestfeeding problems that may arise through comprehensive care.
