I WROTE A BOOK. 🥹🌊
I have been waiting a long time to say those words out loud to EVERYONE! A Year By The Sea: Slow Living, Salty Air, and Everyday Wonder is coming Spring 2027 from Quarto… and not only am I sharing that news, I also get to share the beautiful cover with you 💙
If I've seemed a little quieter around here over the past year, there's been a lot happening behind the scenes. It has been one of the hardest years our family has been through. We lost Chris's dad. I said goodbye to my soul cat, Oliver. My mom went through cancer surgery and treatment, and I navigated some health concerns of my own. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, I've been quietly plinking away at something I still can't quite believe I get to say I've made.
A BOOK 📖
I've thought my brains out. I've written and rewritten. I’ve edited and edited again (thank you Natalie!). I've cooked and made things and photographed them. I've wandered beaches and watched seasons change and tried to put what I love about this place and this little life beside the North Atlantic into words.
Somehow, through one of the hardest years, A Year By The Sea came to life. This book is rooted here in Newfoundland and in so much of what I've shared through A Little Cup of Sea over the years. It moves through the seasons with personal reflections, recipes, simple creative projects and ways of noticing. It’s a celebration of slow living, salty air and the wonder tucked into ordinary days.
And now it's real. It's coming. And you can pre-order it. 🥹
