Your period may get heavier before it disappears.

And no, you’re not imagining it.

During perimenopause, hormone shifts can make bleeding heavier, longer, or more unpredictable — and for many women, this becomes one of the most frustrating parts of the transition.

The good news? You have options.

Hormonal IUDs aren’t just for birth control. They can also be used to help reduce heavy bleeding and support you through perimenopause.

You don’t have to “just deal with it” every month.

Book a visit with me and let’s talk about what’s actually going on — and what can help.

Sometimes it’s not low libido. Sometimes… s*x actually hurts.

In my Women’s Health Newsletter, we’re talking about why s*x can become painful, why so many women think they’ve “lost desire,” and what might actually be happening in the body during perimenopause and menopause.

One thing I really want more women to know about: vaginal estrogen.

For many women, it can be a safe and effective option — and even for some women with a history of breast cancer, it may be worth discussing with your provider.

Painful s*x is common, but it’s not something you have to silently push through.

Heavy bleeding is common — but it’s not something you should have to normalize.

Fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, and perimenopause can all affect your bleeding pattern.

Heavier periods, longer cycles, clotting, pelvic pressure, or sudden changes in your cycle may be signs that your body needs a closer look.

Sometimes the root cause is hormonal. Sometimes, there may be an underlying uterine change.

That’s why I offer point-of-care ultrasounds in my practice — to bring clarity, reassurance, and help get to the bottom of what’s going on.

Schedule your ultrasound today, so we can get to the root of your heavy bleeding.

If you’re in your 20s with PMOS, menopause might feel far away — but here’s why it matters now.

PCOS/PMOS can influence your hormonal health long-term, including how you move through perimenopause and menopause later in life.

Here’s what to know:
You may experience menopause later than your peers.
Symptoms like chin hair growth or hair thinning may become more noticeable during perimenopause.

Insulin resistance often becomes more prominent in perimenopause — and many people with PCOS/PMOS are already navigating it earlier.

That’s why supporting your metabolism, hormones, weight management, and visceral fat now can make a real difference later.

Whether you’re dealing with PCOS/PMOS symptoms or entering perimenopause, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Book a consultation to get personalized support.

PCOS is more than “cysts on the ovaries.”

That’s why some practitioners are shifting the conversation toward PMOS: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome — a name that better reflects what this condition actually involves.
Because this isn’t just an ovarian issue.

It can affect metabolism, hormones, fertility, mood, weight regulation, inflammation, and long-term health.

Symptoms may include irregular cycles, infertility, anxiety, acne, hair changes, and difficulty managing weight.

PMOS requires more than symptom management — it needs ongoing, whole-body, integrative care.

If you’ve been struggling with PCOS symptoms and feel like you haven’t been heard, let’s talk.

We talk about the wage gap all the time…
But there’s another gap women deserve to know about: the or**sm gap.

Women are taught how to prevent pregnancy.
How to manage their cycles.
How to be “responsible.”

But how often are women actually taught about pleasure?

This is not just about s*x — it’s about education, body literacy, communication, and women’s health.
In the next Women’s Health Newsletter, we’re talking about why the or**sm gap exists, why men experience more pleasure, and what women deserve to understand about their own bodies.

Join the newsletter — because this conversation is overdue.

After 50, health screening becomes less about “checking boxes” and more about understanding how your body is changing.

Post-menopause can influence bone density, metabolism, cardiovascular risk, sleep, pelvic health, thyroid function, skin, mood, and cognitive health.

The goal isn’t to look at each test in isolation — it’s to connect the dots.

Regular screening helps us catch early changes, understand your baseline, and support long-term health with more clarity and intention.

Save this post as a gentle reminder of what to keep on your radar at 50+.

Between 40 and 50, your body can start asking for a different kind of attention.

Not because something is wrong, but because this decade often brings subtle shifts in energy, cycles, metabolism, mood, bone health, and cardiovascular risk.

Health screening gives us a clearer window into what your body may need more support with — from iron and thyroid function to inflammation, blood sugar, cholesterol, vitamin D, and hormone-related changes.

In naturopathic medicine, we don’t just look at numbers in isolation. We look for patterns, context, and early signs that can help us support you before symptoms become harder to manage.

Save this as a gentle reminder for your next check-up.

Sleep isn’t just rest—it’s when your body restores balance, rebuilds resilience, and resets your hormones. ✨

When you treat sleep like a luxury, your energy, mood, and cycle pay the price. When you treat it like the foundation, everything shifts.

💌 Last week in the Women’s Health Newsletter, we dove deeper into why sleep is one of the most powerful hormonal supports you already have access to.
