Hello Everyone! Several things have happened since I opened my doors in early 2020, so I wanted to take some time to reintroduce myself.
My name is Mandy Robertson, and I’m an IAT Certified Trichologist. My passion for treating hair loss is personal. My hair loss started rapidly in my early twenties and at age 22 I was diagnosed with female pattern hair loss. I left the brief dermatologist appointment with more questions than answers. How did the dermatologist diagnose me after such a brief examination? Could other things like stress, nutrition, or hormones be playing a role? Would my hair loss ever stop? Was there any chance that my hair would recover?
I realized that there must be a better way to treat people with hair loss; something more specific, thorough, and compassionate. I decided to set off on a journey to learn not only more about my own hair loss, but about the science behind hair loss and how it can be better treated.
My journey led me to completing a master’s in business administration before pursuing trichology training with the International Association of Trichologists. Wanting to expand my knowledge further, I completed the competitive 87 week Evidence Based Hair Fellowship with world renowned dermatologist Dr. Jeff Donovan in August 2025.
I now own and run Deeply Rooted Hair Clinic in Vancouver, BC. In my practice, I use various methods to assess my clients’ hair and scalp issues (a detailed intake process, hair/scalp examination and trichoscopy, and review of pertinent lifestyle and medical information) and create treatment plans that work for each individual’s goals, philosophy, and budget.
It has been an honour to be able to do this work and be part of so many people’s hair loss/growth journeys. Looking forward to the next chapters!
